Cassandra Lepore, Transformation and Finance

Cassandra Lepore is now working in the Finance department, beginning first as a student in the Transformation department this past summer.

She graduated this year with a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a specialization in International Management from the University of Ottawa and spent 4 months in Milan, Italy studying alongside students from over 30 countries.

The Transformation team at SAH works to identify and facilitate process changes that will lead to improvements in patient care and efficiencies for staff. Cassandra has completed her yellow belt certification at SAH. “In my role, I assisted staff in implementing improvements for patient care through the ONE (electronic medical record) project and I had the opportunity to work in collaboration with our community partners to make significant improvements to our processes in the morgue,” she says. She also supported our ongoing leadership development training sessions. “I loved my role in Transformation because I was able to make the connection between the work I was doing and patient care. It was empowering to learn that a business student, I could make a difference in the lives of patients and their families.”

Cassandra’s experience as a young professional at SAH was inspiring. “This opportunity has made me passionate about working in health care. The Transformation team is amazing and SAH is a wonderful place to work. “I was fortunate to be surrounded by people who are so are committed to patient care.” In addition to her work at SAH, she works at Studio Dance Arts and Algoma Family Services providing child care. She also volunteers as a Big Sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters and is completing Sault College’s certificate program in Children’s Mental Health.

Cassandra enjoys spending time with her large family and friends. She also enjoys travelling and has been to 11 countries in Europe.

We thank Cassandra for her passion and her commitment to continuous improvement and excellence!
