Apply to a job posting listed under career opportunities by selecting “apply” in the job posting. 

Prospective employees can expect the following steps in the application process:

Step 1

Select the job posting you are applying to and review the posting carefully.  At the bottom of the posting click on the Apply Now button and fill in all the required fields on the application form, attach your resume and cover letter and click Submit Application. You will receive a confirmation e-mail (if you do not receive it please check your junk mail).

Step 2

Applications are reviewed and those who are selected for the next step of the process will be contacted. Please remember that SAH is a unionized employer and applicants are selected in accordance with the relevant collective agreement. Accommodations are available to meet all accessibility needs.

Step 3

Should you be the successful applicant to a position and are external to the hospital, your offer will include the following pre-employment conditions:

  • Verification of three (3) employment references
  • A Criminal Reference and Vulnerable Sector Check clearance
  • Completion of the Occupational Health Screening and onboarding documentation

Step 4

If all conditions of employment have been met you will be provided with a general Hospital Orientation and Departmental Orientation to ensure a safe and supportive onboarding at Sault Area Hospital, welcome!

Many of SAH’s positions are unionized which means there are collective agreements in place.  The Hospital must consider applicants that are part of the bargaining units before recruiting external to the hospital.

Continue to apply to every single position you are interested in, even the temporary or casual positions.

You do not need to use a particular format for your resume but it is very important that you read the posting you are applying to carefully and create your resume to highlight your skills and experiences that relate to the job and its requirements.

No, your resume will stay on file only for the job to which you applied. You will need to apply to all postings that you are interested in separately.

The Human Resources Department is located off the main lobby. Immediately upon entering, turn left.  Human Resources is the 2nd suite located on the right.
