Fewer Stokes – Better Outcomes!
Sault Area Hospital is proud to be a partner in the Ontario Stroke Network. As a designated District Stroke Centre we are committed to providing excellence in stroke care for our entire District, from Blind River to Horne Payne.
Our state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and telemedicine ability make it possible to diagnose and treat stroke quickly. With dedicated physicians, nurses, allied health providers and partners in the community we aim to provide the best possible care to stroke patients.
A stroke is a medical emergency. If you are experiencing any signs of stroke, do not hesitate to call 9-1-1 immediately even during the pandemic. Do not drive.
Our hospital is prepared to care for you. Delaying treatment could be detrimental to your well-being. People who are treated more quickly (even 15 minutes faster) after having a stroke have significantly improved health outcomes. Know the signs. Act quickly.
