Masking Requirements at SAH Will Continue

– Sault Area Hospital will continue to require mandatory masking for patients, caregivers, visitors and other members of the public in all SAH settings. While COVID-related hospitalizations and critical illness are declining, vulnerable populations continue to be at heightened risk of infection. As a result, we believe it is appropriate for masking to remain in place at SAH, including in our community-based locations.

SAH is committed to doing everything possible to keep patients, workers and our community safe. SAH will continue to adhere to the precautionary principle, as we have done throughout the pandemic, and follow infection, prevention, and control best practices and advice from Public Health. SAH will maintain COVID-related masking and personal protective equipment policies and procedures for the foreseeable future, even after provincial requirements are lifted, to maintain a safe environment for vulnerable populations and workers.
