Duties:
- Participate and collaborate with other health care providers in the provision of patient care.
- Effectively use the Standards of Nursing Practice and the Nursing Process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of the patient.
- Provide health teaching to patients and family.
- Responsible for accurate collection of patient care data and the completion of the Functional Independence Measures form with this data.
Qualifications:
- Certificate of competency in Ontario
- Demonstrated competencies related to IV Therapy.
Knowledge:
- Demonstrated clinical competencies in managing all categories of restorative and rehabilitative care patients.
- Knowledgeable in the utilization and care of all mechanical equipment required for patient care.
Ability:
- Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of nursing staff including non-regulated health care workers to achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain successful working relationships; ability to meet and interact with people in a pleasant, professional, responsible and reassuring manner, both in person and on the telephone; tact, courtesy and alertness in public contacts.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education in Gerontology and Rehabilitative nursing.
- Demonstrated behaviour consistent with the hospital’s mission statement and iCcare Way.
