Purpose:
To perform diagnostic non-invasive cardiology tests and other designated duties
Duties:
- Perform Cardiac Stress Testing.
- Perform ECG Testing and Holter Monitoring.
- Operate Holter Scanner.
- Clean and maintain equipment, to ensure readiness.
- Transfer exams to Philips iECG Management system.
- Promote professionalism within the Department with particular emphasis in confidentiality, personal appearance and teamwork.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited CardioVascular Technology Program
- Certification or eligibility for certification with Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT)
Experience:
- Knowledge in the use of:
- Electrocardiograph units
- Cardiac Stress testing units
- Holter Monitor
- Holter Scanner
- Defibrillator
Skills/Ability:
- Customer service, interpersonal and telephone skills.
- Human relations skills including empathy, sensitivity, understanding of human and organizational behavior, motivational techniques and counseling skills (e.g. teaching patients).
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently as a team member in a fast paced environment in stressful situations.
- Ability to organize time effectively to perform the duties of the position.
- Ability to meet and interact with people in a pleasant, professional, responsible and reassuring manner.
- Ability to maintain successful working relationships with the interdisciplinary team to achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Computer literacy in a Microsoft environment.

- Ability to read, write and communicate to perform the duties of the position.
