Yes. Anyone can register and sign up for the courses offered at SAH. The only course specific to SAH employees is the Non Violent Crisis Intervention Training.

If you are not a SAH employee you must meet the course prerequisites and provide valid credit card information to process the course fees.

All registration forms are reviewed by the education team before confirming registration in the course.

No. The courses are designed for healthcare providers and trained first responders who provide care to patients in a wide variety of settings or those in a healthcare training program.

Spots in the classes are limited and last-minute cancellations prevent equal access to the courses for others. The cancellation fee was instituted in order to ensure that those signing up for the course attend and when unable to, enough notice is provided to offer the opportunity to another person.  Please note that accepting a shift and not attending the course constitutes a cancellation and the cancellation policy will be applied.

While it is understandable that emergencies happen, you may still be charged the full course fee. Instructors, planning and course materials have been secured for the course.

If you are unable to attend due to an emergency, email education@sah.on.ca.

This will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

All Heart and Stroke courses are visible to instructors on the Heart and Stroke portal. Your certification will be validated prior to the start of class. For other courses, there may be various prerequisite requirements.

If you are unsure if you meet the prerequisite requirements, please email education@sah.on.ca
