- Suzie Robinson, Manager Food Services
Suzie Robinson began working as the Manager of Food Services in 2015 after a 12-year career in food services in the long-term care sector.
At a young age, Suzie knew she wanted to work in the food industry. When she began at SAH, the hospital was in the midst of transitioning to a new patient delivery food service. “I enjoyed the new challenge and I am pleased that our new food system offered temperature control and more patient food choices which ultimately resulted in improved patient satisfaction.” With hundreds of food choices now available on the menu, frequent patient surveys ensure continuous improvements. “To prevent menu fatigue, we strive to continually provide different food choices and have also introduced themed holiday treats such as hot chocolate and desserts.”
In her role, Suzie manages 50 employees and 6 supervisors. “Our department is a very busy 24/7 operation. “As an example, we do dishes for the entire patient population (260+ patients) in 30 minutes.” She is always looking for ways to improve and do things more efficiently and engages with our Patient and Family Advisors through taste testing opportunities. Suzie is passionate about patient satisfaction and credits her entire team for their many successful initiatives. “I have a highly engaged team and our projects, ideas and improvements are staff-driven. My role is to support staff so they can deliver excellent patient services.”
Outside of work, Suzie enjoys spending time with her family. I have a 10-year old daughter that I adore and I love going on dance trips with her.” She also enjoys yoga and walking her dog.
We take this opportunity to acknowledge Suzie for her leadership and passion for the continuous improvement of patient care services at SAH!
