Northway Wellness Centre Offering Guided Public Tours

September 18, 2023 – Sault Area Hospital (SAH) is pleased to announce that Northway Wellness Centre, our new home of the Residential Withdrawal and Safe Beds program, will officially open to clients soon!

Residential Withdrawal Management is a short-term service that provides safe care for individuals 16 and older who are experiencing substance withdrawal, are intoxicated, or seeking help with relapse prevention.

The Safe Beds program provides in-house treatment for up to 30 days for stabilization and to prevent mental health inpatient admissions or entry into the criminal justice system. These beds are designed for those with mental health and/or addiction needs that are suitable for non-medical intervention and can be supported in a community/home-like setting rather than in a hospital.

Prior to opening for client care, the public is invited to attend a guided tour of the Northway Wellness Centre:

Time:  2:00 pm to 7:00 pm (come and go; tour will take 15-20 minutes)

Location: 145 Old Garden River Road

Parking: Free parking at the rear of the building

The relocation of these programs to this completely renovated facility will ensure that individuals in our community have access to a specially designed environment and high quality mental health and addiction care, where and when they need it.
