While OHIP does provide some coverage for emergency or immediate medical care, it does not cover all medical expenses.

The Algoma District Cancer Program assists with the following:

Northern Health Travel Grants (NHTG)

If you live in Northern Ontario and have travelled more than 100 kilometres (60 miles) to receive treatment or visit an oncologist, you are eligible for a Northern Health Travel Grant (NHTG). Your family doctor, as well as your oncologist and clinic nurse, know about this program and will be able to give you an application form. Blank forms are also available at the Cancer Clinic registration desk.

Drug Reimbursement Specialist
