Assistant Human Recourses Recruitment Consultant- Temporary Full Time (18-20 Month Contract- Maternity Leave)- Human Resources

We are seeking an Assistant Human Resources Recruitment Consultant- to join our Human Resources team on a temporary basis. Reporting to the Manager of Recruitment and Retention, you will play a key role in delivering full-cycle recruitment and onboarding services that support the staffing needs for Sault Area Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional looking to gain hands-on experience in recruitment, labour relations, onboarding, and workforce initiatives while working closely with leaders, employees, union representatives, and external candidates.

Recruitment

As a valued member of the Recruitment team, you will:

  • Coordinate and support full-cycle recruitment activities for assigned client groups.
  • Partner with leaders to attract and hire top talent in a high-volume recruitment environment.
  • Interpret collective agreements, legislation, and organizational policies related to recruitment.
  • Prepare and manage internal and external job postings.
  • Develop posting packages in accordance with collective agreement requirements.
  • Screen applications and provide recruitment recommendations to leadership teams.
  • Support interview planning by assisting leaders with interview questions, testing tools, and evaluation methods.
  • Coordinate interviews, testing, and candidate communications.
  • Facilitate employee transfers and internal movement processes.
  • Collaborate with union representatives and Ability Management on recruitment-related matters.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for recruitment-related grievances and labour relations discussions.
  • Respond to recruitment inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the online recruitment system.

Onboarding & Employee Experience

Help create a positive and welcoming experience for new team members by:

  • Coordinating and scheduling onboarding appointments.
  • Partnering with Occupational Health to ensure a seamless onboarding process.
  • Conducting onboarding appointments and collecting employment documentation.
  • Preparing offer letters, transfer letters, and contract documentation.
  • Processing Personnel Action Requests (PARs).
  • Entering and maintaining employee information within Meditech.
  • Creating and maintaining electronic employee personnel files.
  • Coordinating employee identification badge creation.
  • Assisting with and facilitating monthly New Hire Orientation sessions.
  • Coordinate monthly orientation sessions with the Recruitment Team

Recruitment Programs & Special Projects

You will also have the opportunity to:

  • Support healthcare recruitment initiatives including Summer Student, Internship, and Nursing Graduate programs.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities while ensuring funding and program deadlines are achieved.
  • Participate in career fairs, community outreach events, and workforce attraction initiatives.
  • Build relationships with educational institutions and external partners to promote employment opportunities.
  • Provide departmental support and assist with special projects as assigned.

Staffing and Licensing Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field and/or Certificate in Human Resources Management
  2. 1-3 years’ experience working in a human resources field
  3. Experience working in a high-volume, customer-focused environment.
  4. Experience utilizing virtual meeting and videoconferencing platforms.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently as a team member in a fast paced environment in stressful situations.
  • Customer service, interpersonal and telephone skills.
  • Computer literacy in an enterprise environment (Microsoft, Cisco, VMWare)
  • Ability to organize time effectively to perform the duties of the position.
  • Ability to meet and interact with people in a pleasant, professional, responsible and reassuring manner.

  • Ability to read, write and communicate to perform the duties of the position.
