Sault Area Hospital Appoints New President & CEO

 July 7, 2026 – The Board of Directors of Sault Area Hospital (SAH) is pleased to announce the appointment of Murray Doucette as the next President and Chief Executive Officer.

Murray is a senior healthcare executive with nearly 30 years of leadership experience across provincial health systems, academic health centres, long‑term care organizations, and public‑sector institutions. He is recognized for his people‑centred leadership style, strong partnership‑building skills, and commitment to transparency, accountability, and organizational excellence.

“Murray brings the experience, values, and leadership approach that align strongly with SAH’s mission and the needs of our community,” said Mark Lepore, Board Chair. “His focus on learning the system, understanding the community, and advancing SAH’s strategic plan will support a smooth and thoughtful transition.”

The Board also extends its sincere appreciation to interim President and Chief Executive Officer Greg Zambusi for his leadership and dedication throughout the transition.

Murray’s anticipated start date is September 9, 2026.
