RSV Outbreak Declared – 1B

RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) Outbreak Declared on SAH’s 1B Unit (Transitional Care Unit)

As of June 1, 2026, following provincial guidelines, Sault Area Hospital (SAH) has declared a RSV outbreak on the 1B unit in partnership with Algoma Public Health (APH).

At this time, we are limiting visiting to Essential Caregivers. Essential Caregivers are to wear PPE when in a patient’s room where additional precautions have been added (signage will indicate additional precautions are in place). Visitors are to adhere to hand hygiene practices.
