MRSA (Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus) Outbreak Declared on SAH’s 2C Unit (Complex Care Unit)
As of July 2, 2026, following provincial guidelines, Sault Area Hospital (SAH), together with Algoma Public Health (APH), has declared a MRSA outbreak on the 2C unit.
At this time, we are limiting visiting to Essential Caregivers. Essential Caregivers are to wear PPE when in a patient’s room where additional precautions have been added (signage will indicate additional precautions are in place). Visitors are to adhere to hand hygiene practices.
