Important Weather Update – Sault Area Hospital

December 29, 2025 – Sault Area Hospital remains open. Some clinics have been rescheduled, and in some cases, appointments have been moved to virtual visits. Patients will be contacted directly if there are any changes to their appointment.

 

Our Emergency Department is experiencing a high volume of patients, and the hospital has limited inpatient beds. Wait times may be longer than usual. Non-urgent patients may consider using SAH’s Virtual Home Waiting Room, which provides estimated wait times and allows patients to wait from home until closer to their expected turn – https://bit.ly/48EJcqE.

 

Staffing levels may not always be at full capacity, as some healthcare workers are experiencing travel delays. SAH teams on site are actively managing the situation, with redeployment plans in place to maintain essential services.

 

We ask that family and loved ones visit only if absolutely necessary due to the inclement weather.

 

Please use caution when entering the hospital, as our Facilities Team is working to keep walkways and parking areas clear and safe.
