Declared Over: MRSA Outbreak 2C
July 23, 2026 – Sault Area Hospital, in consultation with Algoma Public Health, has declared the MRSA outbreak on our 2C unit over, effective July 23, 2026.
We extend our sincere thanks to our staff, physicians, Infection Prevention and Control team, Environmental Services, support teams, patients, and families for their cooperation, dedication, and commitment throughout the outbreak. Your diligence and adherence to infection prevention and control measures helped protect our patients and bring the outbreak to a successful conclusion.
