Code Grey – Infrastructure Loss – Declared Over

February 26, 2026 – UPDATE: Code Grey Declared Over. As of 4:45 p.m., systems are now restored. We kindly ask for your continued patience as our staff work diligently to catch up and resume normal operations.

Sault Area Hospital (SAH) called a Code Grey today at 2:15 pm. This means we have an infrastructure loss. MEDITECH, the patient electronic medical record system, is currently down.

The outage is due to a regional MEDITECH application-level issue. At this time, this has not been identified as a cyber-incident.

SAH downtime procedures are in effect, resulting in potential delays and some patient appointments or procedures may need to be rescheduled, depending on the length of the outage. Any affected patients will be contacted directly by a member of the SAH team.

Patient safety is SAH’s highest priority, and all emergency cases will be prioritized. We would like to reiterate that emergency care will not be delayed.

We are working diligently to restore all systems as soon as possible and will provide updates to staff and the community as more information becomes available.
