Office Assistant- Geriatric Services- Temporary Part Time

Duties:

  1. To provide clerical-support services for the Behavioural Supports Ontario program, Seniors Mental Health and other geriatric services as needed
  2. To provide support for the Manager of Geriatric Services.
  3. To provide intake services as defined by program
  4. To provide booking services 
  5. To prepare, organize and maintain a filing system for patient charts and administrative information and correspondence.
  6. To scan test results and reports into Meditech.
  7. Development of forms
  8. Manager may assign additional tasks.

Qualifications:             

  • Diploma in Office Administration or Health Office Administration Certificate or equivalent education and experience in a health care or outpatient environment.

Experience:

  • Experience working with Meditech

Ability:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office software, in particular Excel is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Medical Terminology required.
  • Experience using Community Wide Scheduling or other scheduling systems is required.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate with patients with special needs (i.e. speech, communication difficulties)
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks with efficiency.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment with high sensory demands.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain successful working relationships and provide excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrated behaviour consistent with the hospital’s Standards of Performance and ICCARE values.
