Duties:
- To provide clerical-support services for the Behavioural Supports Ontario program, Seniors Mental Health and other geriatric services as needed
- To provide support for the Manager of Geriatric Services.
- To provide intake services as defined by program
- To provide booking services
- To prepare, organize and maintain a filing system for patient charts and administrative information and correspondence.
- To scan test results and reports into Meditech.
- Development of forms
- Manager may assign additional tasks.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Office Administration or Health Office Administration Certificate or equivalent education and experience in a health care or outpatient environment.
Experience:
- Experience working with Meditech
Ability:
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office software, in particular Excel is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Medical Terminology required.
- Experience using Community Wide Scheduling or other scheduling systems is required.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to communicate with patients with special needs (i.e. speech, communication difficulties)
- Demonstrated excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks with efficiency.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment with high sensory demands.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain successful working relationships and provide excellent customer service.
- Demonstrated behaviour consistent with the hospital’s Standards of Performance and ICCARE values.
