Occupational Therapy Assistant – Allied Health – Full Time

DUTIES:

  1. Assist the Occupational Therapists with carrying out treatment programs for clients.
  2. Participate in facilitation of group therapy.
  3. Facilitate treatment programs as directed by the occupational therapist
  4. Prepare assessment and treatment materials.
  5. Record and enter workload units in software.
  6. Research and collect data for special projects.
  7. Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of equipment and work areas.
  8. Maintain medical records of treatment provided as required in EMR
  9. Keep accurate records of and maintain all stock and non-stock supplies and equipment.
  10. Participate in Quality Improvement

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy Assistant Diploma

 

SKILLS & ABILITY:

  1. Proficiency in medical terminology
  2. Demonstrated knowledge in occupational therapy practices
  3. Demonstrated ability to successfully work independently and under supervision.
  4. Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  5. Excellent organizational and communication skills
  6. Ability to work in a team environment
  7. Demonstrated ability to maintain successful working relationships; ability to meet and interact with people in a pleasant, professional, responsible and reassuring manner, tact, courtesy and alertness in public contacts.
  8. Demonstrated excellent communication and organizational skills
  9. Demonstrated behaviour consistent with the hospital’s mission statement and core values.
